Here’s Dj Kool Herc himself, on video, saying James Brown was his biggest influence. His inspiration came from Black American culture and our leaders. So why didn’t he credit Jamaican music or culture as his primary influence? Why did he choose funk and James Brown over reggae?

Let's not forget these men did not come from the enslaved masses in Haiti. Many came from the free slave owning mulatto class and were in slave catching regiment in Haiti. They also fought for the French. Haiti didn't even exist at the time of the American Revolution ✌🏾😉

D. C. Matthew Smooth Cat 🇺🇲 Pure Blooded Gullah 🍚 Black Americans simply do not come from the Caribbean and any slave that was sent from an island was an African that was seasoned on an island, not a modern Caribbean cultured black person, so the shit is irrelevant. Way more Caribbean blacks have black American ancestry.

Septima Clarke was not Haitian. She is from my hometown, Charleston. Her father was from Charleston & her mother was born in Charleston. Her mother was raised in Haiti but her mother's entire family line is from Charleston. You people are a joke

X has been limiting my site’s reach. I built #BLKsignal with my own money to create a news hub for us, by us. But let’s be real—without actual support, it’s pointless. We scream “we need our own platforms” but vanish when they exist. A like or RT is free.

The reverse of this is also true When its something positive they like when people highlight their ethnicity, but when it's something negative they want to hide behind flat Blackness Here is an example from 100 years ago about Jamaican Marcus Garvey
