The issues in this article underline how it’s time for a broader look on the State level at the building code. Is there a ceiling height that poses a safety issue? Sure, but I don’t know if there’s evidence that the current standard is the right one.

This pretty much sums up my position. I have no sympathy for Maduro and his crooks, but this attack is A) illegal, B) dangerous, and C) not part of a broader strategy because there is never a broader strategy with this administration. I hope we avoid "Iraq on the beach."

Completely agree. The Governor’s budget showed a serious lack of focus on affordable housing and homelessness. He started strong on this issue but if he drops the ball now it will be an inescapable part of his legacy.

I am extremely disappointed the California Young Democrats expelled observers & sealed the doors during their voting tonight. This forced many college democrats out of the room and is incompatible with Democratic values and possibly violates State party rules. We should do better
