For the last 20 years, Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative has continued to discover, develop & deliver new treatments to neglected patients. There is still a lot to be done. We are proud of the work that Professor Ahmed Hassan Fahal & the Mycetoma Research Center are doing to alleviate the suffering of #mycetoma patients. #BeatNTDs
Third round #EQA program launched. Proficiency testing samples were shipped through DHL to 17 participating laboratories. The FIRST FIELD TEST for #Buruli ulcer (BU) with assays from Michael Frimpong Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR) & Biomeme Inc. qPCR machine happened this week! In Songololo, DR Congo, ALM's Sundeep Chaitanya V used the Biomeme process (<50 minutes) to diagnose two children, who could then start treatment. #beatNTDs
