This photo is of George Street in #Mablethorpe. The buildings pictured haven't changed much - Graves Garage is now P&Q DIY and the next building is the Montalt Arms, named for a local medieval baron.

This image shows one of the most famous views of #Skegness. Postcards featuring this view down Lumley Road have been a staple of the town since the 19th Century.

Beach entertainment has long been a part of #Mablethorpe's history. In this photo you can see a temporary stage on the beach. The Clement's brothers who put on this show also owned the theatre in #Skegness which became Tower Cinema.

This photo shows what the top of Lumley Road, #Skegness looked like in the late 19th Century. The theatre pictured, now Tower Cinema, underwent several phases of renovation and rebuild during the 20th C and the building now has an art deco facade rather than the one in this photo

#Mablethorpe has several historic hotels. The Louth Hotel was built after the arrival of the Railway in 1878 to provide accommodation close to the station.

#Mablethorpe's wide flat beaches provided a perfect setting for some of the UK's earliest motor-car races. This image, from a contemporary newspaper, shows one of these early racing cars. To this day, Mablethorpe sands are used annually for winter bike races.

The Jolly Fisherman is an icon of #Skegness. Created to market day trips to the resort from London through GNR in 1908. John Hassell who designed the original poster was an illustrator who also produced many advertisements, theatre posters and even illustrated children's books.
