I needed a stronger arm and didn't want to spend $10k, so I designed and built this one using RobStride Dynamics motors for about $1,200. Still a lot to improve about this setup but it's been a great learning experience so far.
If anyone is working with RobStride Dynamics motors, I published a basic Python SDK and CLI tool for communicating with them: github.com/sirwart/robstr… cc Aleksandr Dobkin Lethic
I had seen the demos but I finally read the paper and it's just as impressive. It convinced me that we shouldn't even bother with mono vision since stereo vision has much better performance for both the operator and the trained policies. Nice work Xuxin Cheng and team!
If you're interested in low-cost humanoid robots, I'm organizing a meetup on Thurs Sept 26th @ 6:00 in SF, featuring live demos from K-Scale Labs, Lethic, Saba Khalilnaji, and more. Space is limited so message me if you want to join!
