Well it was almost a lovely medieval key.

Waiting on a metal detector search coil to dry after washing is a lengthy process, especially in this epic weather. 😉

Small combination lock I found about 20 years ago. I presumed it to be date late Victorian but a few are mentioned on find.org.uk and suggest late 16th early 17th century. Would be great but I’m not convinced.

Mary Queen of Scots Bawbee from today. Cleaned up ok. Obverse - Crown above a thistle with M- R either side. Reverse - a crown within a saltire.

After digging a Mary Queen of Scots Bawbee the other day who pops up today 30 yards away, her nemesis Elizabeth I.

Any ideas on this key? Thought Grandfather clock but too big I think. Found it 35 years ago 😀.

In this type of weather it’s impossible when passing not to stop at the old ruined Kirk of Eassie just over the Sidlaws north of Dundee to take a wee peek at the stunning Pictish stone which was found on the bed of the Eassie Burn in 1842.
