The final version of our CBESheffield publication on alkane dehydrogenation over graphene is now on-line and available open access: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Please RT. We're recruiting for 2-year #postdoc project CBESheffield to develop new processing technology to convert unutilised industrial waste into a raw material feedstock for manufacture of cement & concrete. Innovate UK Harsco Environmental #postdocjobs jobs.ac.uk/job/COU105/ktp…
Our work CBESheffield on 'reverse combustion' - catalytically transforming #CO2 and water into useful products such as methanol - has just been published in Frontiers - Energy. Read the full article here: frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
PDRA opportunity to work on using #biopolymers (e.g. chitin/chitosan) for soil stabilisation in a collaborative project between Civil and Structural Engineering at Sheffield, CBESheffield and Chemistry at the University of Sheffield. Details and application process here: jobs.ac.uk/job/CSQ844/res… Please RT!
We're excited to part of an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council #NewHorizons project looking at biopolymer soil stabilisation - designing innovative infrastructure solutions from the molecular level upwards, while helping us address issues caused by climate change, flood risk and sea-level rise.
Very happy to see this work on co-converting #CO2 and from waste biomass into useful chemicals now published in ACS Sustainable Journals. Well done to all the researchers at Gabinete de Comunicación Universidad de Valladolid; we at CBESheffield were glad to contribute to the success of this project.
And, for that seasonal touch, one of the waste biomass materials used in this study was pine (Norway spruce) needles! ACS Sustainable Journals Gabinete de Comunicación Universidad de Valladolid CBESheffield
For anyone that speaks Dutch, we were on BNR Nieuwsradio yesterday talking about our recent paper with Gabinete de Comunicación Universidad de Valladolid on producing formic acid from #CO2 and pine needles bnr.nl/podcast/wetens…
Happy to talk about this work, and sustainability more broadly, with Nihal Arthanayake on BBC Radio 5 Live earlier today: bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0… (from 11:20)
Our research on turning biomass and #CO2 into formic acid CBESheffield has been featured Springwise springwise.com/innovation/sus…
Excited to be part of this transformative #CO2 utilisation project through our work CBESheffield, producing surfactants from captured carbon dioxide via #catalysis
It's the final day of the WST #SnookerWorldChampionship at the Crucible Theatre! Incase you missed it, on Friday BBC Sport broadcast this great segment on #Sheffield, presented by Abigail Davies, showcasing #sustainability initiatives across The Outdoor City and beyond.
From Kansas-facts with Pt-MOx/TiO2 catalysts to black soldier fly larvae and hydrothermal conversion (courtesy of James MacGregor!) at the Professor David Jackson meeting. The range of industrial and academic catalysis work being showcased is brilliant! School of Chemistry, University of Glasgow
New paper out in Catalysis Today from #ElsevierCatalysis studying the catalytic conversion of polypropylene to propene in sub-critical water. Work supported by a studentship from @PTDF_Nigeria. Full paper here: doi.org/10.1016/j.catt…
