I once expected students to sit quietly for a 40 min lesson. I got frustrated when they got fidgety. This lead to me yelling.
Then I found myself fidgety after only 20 minutes on a PD Day. Everything changed. I changed from “delivering curriculum” to “discovering curriculum.”
How administrators interact in the cafeteria, bus line, hallway, etc, is really more important for building relationships and culture than how they interact in a meeting or their office.
Education is not teacher centered or even student centered, but it is relationship centered. Teachers thrive with positive admin relationships & students thrive with positive teacher relationships. Relationships are the foundation of education.

Another one from today (8/24/23)… this time it’s a waterspout. Meaning the circulation that formed the funnel made it to the water. If that circulation moved on land, it’d be considered a tornado. #NLwx
