Sharing out the Stephen Breyer/National Constitution Center video on Breyer & how the Court decides a case. It’s such a great way to kick off the process of norm building with students. #NCCed youtu.be/rtpJ9-Dd_mA?si…
Took a lead from Katie Boland & asked whether the students preferred mountains or beach. Seeing how we live by both- I was super curious about their results. #OTWV OnTuesdayWeVote Mr. Werenka Michael C. Martirone Kevin M. Cline
Perfect timing. We’re building civil dialogue norms right now. I’m thinking I’m going to have to use this short video tomorrow or Thursday! Thank you for sharing Retro Report!
You know when you have a lesson that slaps? Today I used the Retro Report video on how to disagree to help students “see” civil dialogue norms. Then we shifted & used the Mercatus Center Pluralism Lab method to practice civil dialogue! So proud of my US History students! Sphere Education Initiative
.Mark Schlereth started singing the Idaho fight song mid-segment and the guys had no idea what was happening 🤣😭
We are back! Join us for #sschat with Bill of Rights Institute and National Constitution Center on Monday, September 9th, at 8 pm EDT/5 pm PDT to chat about Constitution Day and the social studies classroom! #civicliteracy!
It’s Tuesday! Asked my first content related OnTuesdayWeVote question to my AP Gov students. #OTWV Can’t wait for the national question in a few weeks! Michael C. Martirone Katie Boland Kevin M. Cline Mr. Werenka
A less serious question for my USHistory2 and APUSH students for their 1st OnTuesdayWeVote. The question was: Is chocolate chip the best kind of cookie? #OTWV
I’ve been out of the classroom for 2 days (days 5/6 of the yr). The timing is terrible but I’m grateful to Bill of Rights Institute for the lesson on the Columbian Exchange & to Retro Report for their ACE lesson. My students learned abt ACE before they worked w/ the article from BRI.
