1. Early Chest rotation Almost every person that performs the towel drill opens their chest early. This is likely due to reaching out towards home and pushing out of the back leg.

2. Pushy arm action There is basically zero layback in the throwing shoulder and forces a pushy arm action as a result. As you can see in the video, the throwing elbow is well in front of the shoulder plane where ball release would be.

3. Fake extension The main goal of the this drill is better extension. The problem is extension needs to be achieved via ROTATION, not reaching towards home. This forced extension causes poor movements earlier in the delivery.
