To put this in context, Tedros Mekonen is our first State Medalist in XC (and only 2nd in school history) since Steve Szabo in 1964. We might have to bring those uniforms back! Senn High School Senn HS Athletics

Great moment at Proviso East 3A Sectional on Thu. Seniors and friends Tedros Mekonen (Senn) and Yasir Hirsi (Mather) finish 1-2 in 3200m run & qualify for STATE. They took 24th & 25th at STATE in 2A in XC, the last two All-State spots. Have one last HS race together next Sat.

Had fun last night, now it's the big day! Tedros Mekonen runs in the fast heat of the 3200 alongside Yasir Hirsi of Mather XC in the IHSA State Finals at ~12:40!
