Don’t get me wrong, F1 has always been super commercialised. Cars and drivers are stickered up like the yellow pages for very obvious reasons. But its pursuit of acceptance in the US really has turned it into a more tacky/gauche spectacle than theyd care to admit. #LasVegasGP

Are Amorim and the boys trying to one-up the 81 pointless crosses Moyes’ United fired in against Fulham all those years ago? #MUFC #MUNEVE

This Zirkzee performance has been a truly disastrous, potentially tenure-at-the-Club ending audition for more minutes in a United shirt. #MUFC #MUNEVE

The shame in Piastri’s struggles since Zandvoort laid bare… Norris has been mighty in the run in and should salute because of it, but in the wash-up Oscar will feel he couldn’t apply enough pressure on his teammate to create enough opportunities for himself. #QatarGP #SkyF1

I appreciate Cunha and Sesko are injured and thus unavailable, but surely Manchester United - the Manchester United - has a better option in attack than Zirkzee. Even if it’s a kid in the u/12s, I don’t care. Play them. #CRYMUN #MUFC

Mmmmmm, theres a long way to go, so staying out may well prove to be the best move, but have McLaren just denied Piastri the best strategy for fear of disproportionately disadvantaging Norris? #QatarGP #SkyF1

… Annnnnnnnnd it’s looking like a disastrous call to not box Oscar with the rest of the field on lap seven. Surely they didn’t keep both out so to protect Lando. Surely. #QatarGP #SkyF1

“Speechless… I don’t have any words.” Fair enough, too, Oscar. All year long McLaren have handed priority to their lead driver *on track* Tonight the team skewered Piastri’s WDC hopes to mitigate harm to Lando’s lead… while giving Max a foot in the door. #QatarGP #SkyF1

If Aston Martin can get their act together under the forthcoming regulation changes, Webber needs to get Piastri across. Nights like tonight tell us flat out where - and with who - their priorities lie. Staggering self sabotage. #QatarGP #SkyF1

Will make for genuinely fascinating viewing to hear how Andrea Stella and Zak Brown attempt to spin another pit wall disaster class. They somehow always manage to drop just enough of an anchor on Oscar Piastri, it’s incredible. #QatarGP #SkyF1

Sean Peter-Budge (@seanpeterbudge) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Poor Andrea Stella… He looks like a guy who knows what the team has done, how it looks and the consequences for Oscar. Piastri, mind you, is a guy who has done the right thing for the team whenever asked. #QatarGP #SkyF1

Martin Brundle just hit the nail on the head… McLaren didn’t double stack their cars because they feared what happened to George Russell would’ve happened to Lando. So they protected Norris by leaving both drivers out… and I think that suits them just fine. #QatarGP #SkyF1

Don’t let it get lost in the wash the only thing which somewhat saved a podium finish for Oscar was Alonso’s tyre management after the first stop, which provided McLaren a gap to drop their cars into. Had Fernando not done so, McL’s strategy would’ve been even worse. #QatarGP

A reminder of another occasion McLaren opted not to double stack and cost Oscar a win. They left Piastri out for one more lap in worsening rain and Norris had basically caught him by the time he got round to the pit entry again. OP would run fourth, 12secs off the win #QatarGP

England have won the toss again. They won the call in each of the first four tests of the 2023 series and have gone two-and-zero through the first two tests this time around. Handy. #Ashes #AUSvENG

Warner’s comments just now about Head’s place in the team is a classic example of a conflict in commentary. He’s sore his mate, Khawaja, got dropped and is now using false equivalence to ask is there a place for Head in the team if he ‘fails’ opening. #Ashes #AUSvsENG

England getting little luck with ball in hand, our bats looking relatively comfortable and voila! the Poms get a change of ball. #Ashes #AUSvsENG

The #WorldCupDraw is proof positive of why an expanded World Cup is a bad idea. Is there a single ‘good’ group? Is there any real jeopardy for any of the big boys?
