For years, Dr. Allen E. Bergin led BYU's formal research on gay conversion therapy. He was also a member of the Sunday School General Presidency Last week, Dr. Bergin issued a formal apology for the harm he caused LGBTQ Latter-day Saints, renouncing his past beliefs & actions:

Today is day 150 of "15 days to flatten the curve." As of today: Only 3% of ER visits for COVID symptoms. Only 1.9% of active cases are hospitalized. Only .014% of Americans are hospitalized with Covid. Only 0.7% of Americans are currently a positive case.

Ok fine, I'll say it. It's time to start leaving our shoes on at the airport again.

I’m anxiously waiting to see how/if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints responds to this. Anything short of public condemnation of these comments show a greater commitment to upholding men than the actual doctrine of Christ. That would be really sad for so many reason.

No one asked my opinion about the Olympics and intersex athletes but here’s my two cents. If you’re biologically XO an you’ve been raised as a female then you should not be able to participate in sports with females who were born with XX chromosomes. Your bodies aren’t the same.

Compassion is the essence of a spiritual life—to be successful in practicing love and compassion, patience and tolerance are indispensable.

I don’t believe God wants us to be fearful. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

We can change our minds. We don’t have to give in to anger and hatred. Since compassion and anger cannot co-exist, the more we cultivate compassion the more our anger will be reduced.
