It's a Sunday #SunDay! Giant #Sunspot group AR3590 is more that 10 times wider than Earth and has 45 individual spots in the core. Easily seen by naked eye but you MUST wear appropriate eclipse glasses - essential! #StormHour #ThePhotoHour #SunHour

NASA defunding Chandra, a brilliant and still functioning x-Ray telescope, is really upsetting. We need it, and it’s science, and the amount of money is small in government terms.

Chandra is an incredible science instrument. Hopefully there's a chance to find new funding for it, but US congressional realities make that seem unlikely.

Agreed. #Aurora photographers get ready! We finally have an Earth-directed #solarstorm worthy of solar maximum. This could easily give us G2, possibly G3-level impacts, sometime late March 25 or early March 26. Waiting for NASA and NOAA model runs to confirm.

The world’s most powerful space telescope has done it again. Webb has discovered what appears to be a new record-holder for the most distant known galaxy — shattering its own previous record. This galaxy existed only 290 million years after the big bang: blogs.nasa.gov/webb/2024/05/3…
