My colleague David Pugliese is one of Canada’s leading journalists who regularly holds the government of the day’s feet to the fire on defence and other issues. His is the kind of work that keeps a democracy healthy. This attack on him should terrify all journalists.

David Pugliese I took a lot of flak for pointing out one of Freeland’s family members (on the other side) served in the Ukrainian Galician Division. While I’m sure Russia appreciated the story, it also happened to be true. It’s not reasonable to bury stories because they could aid a narrative.

David Pugliese What was shocking, even to a cynic like me, was seeing a former cabinet minister read a scripted hit piece under the cover of parliamentary privilege and sitting MPs credulously lapping it up and asking for more.
