This was a maybe should have passed rating. Saka does get closed down well here. I like Martinelli typically in that spot to finish but if he makes the pass it’s a higher probability chance (if Saka can get on the end but not certain to happen)

His defensive work was excellent and he was the right player for what was asked but only so high you can go on this type of on ball day.

Clearly not. Remember Newcastle away last year where we learned a much harder two hands in the back shove is fine. Be stronger.

James Maddison had 0 joy in the central and half space areas in the final third. Jorginho and Partey weren’t great but they did a good job limiting access into these zones. One of the keys to have Arsenal’s block was effective today for me. Funneled everything wide and then dealt

2/5 weekend but got the big one with the NLD. The line moved further against Arsenal on the injury news and I double downed on it.

Seeing Spurs fans complaining about Arsenal playing a dull game, that’s pretty true but makes sense given the absences. I don’t think Spurs were particularly eye catching either here, basically spam cross mode.

They did have some, they created 3 low quality chances and had just 4 progressive passes from these zones. Almost all the passes in this zone were around the block and not really through it. Overall Arsenal limited access into dangerous areas in this match.

I think that Arsenal had some stretches where they dropped deep but it wasn't all that they did. Still plenty of picking of times to press and a higher mid-block.

Thomas Partey went 7/7 in duels today Seen some people say I got my rating wrong on him today, but I think he was very important with what he did in the midfield today.

IDK man, I think being able to win games with the highest defensive line OR win games with a deep block is ... a sign of a good manager?

I did some quick back of the envelope math here. I think the pass is probably a 65-80% to be completed pass. He doesn't have to be perfect with it but it still isn't an automatic with the pressure from Udogie running back. I think there is a high probability if it is completed
