It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

It's funny that people can't see how traditional religion is simply being replaced by hardline secular ideologies, which are often more dogmatic, intolerant, and hostile to non-believers, blasphemers, and apostates. People are more godless than ever, but just as 'religious'.

Even parents who complain about low academic standards in the schools seem not to understand that academic achievement is not the real priority of today's educators. Classroom brainwashing is the goal, though it is expressed in prettier and more pious words than this.

When you refuse to let supply rise to meet rising demand, why should you be surprised — much less outraged — when prices rise?

America symbolizes, above all, freedom and opportunity for ordinary people. That is what makes it a beacon to those in other lands who are seeking freedom and opportunity.
