Schenectady firefighters had to overcome harsh winter weather last night putting out a fire on Avenue A, saving a dog trapped in the building. Then they struggled through knee high snow to put out a car fire on Albany St.

Schenectady firefighters battled another fire on Avenue A early Monday morning. Bitter sub zero temperatures caused fire hydrants and hoses to freeze. Fortunately, all residents were evacuated safely and no injuries resulted from the fire.

Early Wednesday morning Schenectady Firefighters worked to control a fire on Kelton ave. All residents evacuated safety.

Schenectady firefighters battled a very challenging blaze this morning on the corner of Georgetta Dix and Westover Place this morning. All occupants evacuated safely.

Schenectady firefighters encountered heavy wind-driven fire on the second floor of this VanVranken Avenue home. Shortly after their arrival, flames spread to the attic and it collapsed. All residents were evacuated safely. No injuries were reported by the fire department.
