Everyone accepts the best team doesn’t always win a cup competition. League system is a far better way of determining who the best team is but it still doesn’t mean the best team always wins. Basically, he’s right.

On FA Cup replays… No club is dependent on them, or they shouldn’t be. Your model can’t rely on you possibly getting far enough to play a PL side & then maybe, just maybe, forcing a replay at their ground. That’s a bonus. But it’s also incredibly rare.

Despite the commentary making out this has been an awful half from #LFC, I think they’ve been absolutely fine mostly. Calm & controlled in possession, couple of decent chances. Something to build on in the second half… until you give away a soft goal & spoil it all.

Nearly two weeks since his last game, I’m just about coming to terms with Jürgen Klopp leaving #LFC. Well, I have just bought a case of Erdinger just because it comes with a glass with his face on it. One that it turns out is too big to fit in my cupboard. So, I’m getting there.

Add it to the list of very normal things at ICC events that includes fudging the groups to guarantee certain matches & one side having a pre-determined time & venue for the semi-final that everyone else has to work around.

England may well go on to win & Cole Palmer is a good player but he’s another one who wants to drift more central. Somehow they’ve made a sub to give them even less width…
