A huge thank you to Trauma & Extremities for providing us with equipment usually reserved for surgical trainees-what a privilege it is for our society to be able to provide such a high quality workshop for our members.
Andrew Baker Dr. Salma Salih Australasian Students' Surgical Association (ASSA) Trauma & Extremities Glad you enjoyed it Andrew! This was a team effort though, couldn’t have done it without our superstar Education Officers on the night! Laure Taher Mansour Sam Mali, Dasith Wewegama and Zhi Xin. And of course our co-chair George Dounas who was taking the photo for us! 😊
Tonight we had the pleasure of hosting our annual RACSurgeons “Set for SET” event-a night for students to learn about the practicalities of surgical training, pathways that can be undertaken and the application process from multiple specialists and SET trainees (1/3)
Very grateful for the support RACSurgeons South Australia has provided our society. They generously organised ALL the speakers for the night, a tremendous help to our Education Officers. I hope to see this relationship continue to grow
We would not be able to run our events without the generous support of our sponsors. We thank them greatly for their continuous support and for allowing our society to provide high quality events, free of charge. MIPS, Hood Sweeney and Edinburgh Surgery Online
Breaking the 3 year Twitter hiatus-back after graduating medical school, starting internship with the pandemic, getting through the first year of surgical residency, passing the RACSurgeons GSSE and just completing the University of Sydney Master of Surgery 😮💨
Love seeing some familiar names across the world-reducing leak rates in rectal ca presented by A/Prof. Craig Lynch sharing outcomes from the RAH at the #ELSA22 conference in Dubai. Patient + surgeon factors + the evolving microbiome RAH Colorectal Research Group 🫐 Tarik Sammour Sergei Bedrikovetski
Crossing all fingers (and toes) for an interview spot for this year’s RACS General Surgery GSET program and doing some interview preparation and research on Twitter tonight 🤓 thank you for sharing some great talks from past conferences Pecky De Silva Dr Christine Lai FRACS FACS
