The 2018 GSS was just released and there's some big news. Those of "no religion" (23.1%) are statistically the same size as evangelicals (22.8%). There was also a small resurgence of mainline Protestants, while Catholics are down 3% in the last four years.

Dems need to do a better job discussing their tax ideas! It sounded like Dems were after 70% of America's income last night--this is not even remotely the case. Here's a primer: Analysis | Ocasio-Cortez’s 70-percent tax rate: Not so radical? washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/…

Mayor Pete is likely to face some headwinds with Black voters in the Democratic nomination contest for multiple reasons, one of which is that Blacks tend not to express much warmth twd gays and lesbians (as well as atheists). I'll bet partisanship would overcome in the general.

Could write thousands of words about this graph. Boomers were never as religious as prior generations. #okboomers Gen Xers in their 20's were more religiously affiliated than boomers in their 50's. But millennials are on an entirely new trajectory - no leveling off.

As a survey researcher, I believe in polls (when procedures are robust and analysts are careful). But they weren't deigned to cull candidates for the Democratic Party. #byebyefavoritecandidates

And I thought school lunches couldn't possibly get worse. Sometimes lunch is a mini cinnamon bun. It is all pre packaged garbage. How about we bring back kitchens at schools. Trump administration proposes changing school menus washingtonpost.com/news/national/…

A big part of the Trump defense was that impeachment should be bipartisan, as it was in the House in the Clinton case. Interesting that Trump's Senate vote was bipartisan, but Clinton's was not.

Thanks to Ryan Claassen for this excellent review of my book in the latest issue of Perspectives. I agree with everything- even the (gentle) criticism. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

Thanks Matt for mentioning this research Mike Ensley and I did. This stuff matters and sometimes in weird ways. A few years ago our yard sign being stolen became the first political memory for my young daughters.
