Little Egret sporting its coloured lores and red feet. I’d noticed the lores before but not the change from yellow to red feet during breeding season. Seen at RSPB Rye Meads. #hertsbirds RSPB Rye Meads

The Kestrel pair at Lemsford Springs seem to like this spot opposite the In Focus Hide to stash and eat their meals. There was a bit of a tussle but they both had a bit to eat in the end. #hertsbirds Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust

Had read about Mars lining up with Gemini’s stars Pollux and Castor to appear as a second ‘belt’ in the sky over a few nights this week so it was great to see it visible. Only taken with handheld mobile but some might like to check it out. VirtualAstro

Great to see the hirundines all hanging out together at Stanborough GPs. Swallows, Sand Martins and House Martins. Also had scope views of the Greenshank, Wheatears and Yellow Wagtail. #hertsbirds

It was great to watch the Grey Wagtail parents at Stanborough Park calling out the youngsters with a mouthful of insects. Think they decided to stay in the warm! ⁦Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust⁩ #hertsbirds

Always a joy to see those wonderful humbug chicks aboard their parents. One in particular was very persistent asking for a ride. Great Crested Grebes, Stanborough Park. #hertsbirds Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust RSPB
