ROOSTER REPORT --- GAME DAY 3 With only a handful of vets available we hosted our first of two game days. The weather played a huge part in both matchups with very different results. The sun was out before snap off but the rain only stopped when we reffed the final game!

GAME1 SYR 6 - 66 Leeds Samurai It's always good to see familiar faces but once again our talented friends from Leeds were the victors. In a downpour we struggled defensively until the 2nd half, where the well run offense of Leeds showcased their QB & WR talents we know well

GAME2 SYR 54 - 25 Nottingham Honey Badgers A side in transition the Badger's were a very relaxed sideline this time out. Both teams scored early but thanks to great plays on offense & defense in each half the Roosters ran away with a 50 burger. A big win for those who remember past games

Rookie Martin Smith who almost had pick no1 vs Notts, shared his thoughts on vs Samurai - "Missed core vets on both side of the ball against an organised team like Leeds. However, we made good plays in bad weather and was unlucky to not put more past them when we got going."

CB & blizter John Padley who played a blinder gave his run down "Vs the badgers our offence changed it up with the shorter passes & great QB running as we learned from the game vs Leeds. I think our defense evolved too as there was some great pics, reads and coverage all round"

Another Game Day tomorrow for the Roosters. After a short journey to Nottingham, we play our longtime friends and divisional rivals the Nottingham Bears & Leeds Ronin. Two very exciting fixtures on the horizon! #cluckyeah #roosters

Two very entertaining games today with possibly SY Rooster's first ever draw. We will check the very short history books.... update to follow

SYR 20 - 20 Leeds Ronin A very entertaining draw where both sides had their good spells. With very little time left Leeds mounted a final drive but the Roosters' D stood firm at their own endzone to guarantee no defeat. Highlight - First snap of new QB Joe is a full length TD!

SYR 20 - 27 Nottingham Bears Another big game against our longtime divisional friends. The Bears edged it this time when their D ended any hopes of a win with a great pick at the endzone in the dying minutes. Until next time Bears! Highlight - first TD for Rookie Daniel Hall

Today is a sad day at the Roosters. We've learned of the passing of a former player, Thomas Christon. Tom was a great, down to Earth guy, who loved coming to play or watch us during the time he was involved with the club. We shall retire the number 90 that Tom wore in his honour
