Our field work 1. Kampung BeCool 2. Raflesia (rumah reflektif surya) - a cool house The lab test of this #coolmaterials reached #Emitance 0.9; #SolarReflectance 72.1%, #SolarAbsorptance 27.9% while the #SolarReflactanceIndex = 0.88.

Kampung BeCool is a community-driven initiative in #Indonesia that showcases #PassiveDesign strategies & the use of low-carbon building materials to combat #UrbanHeatIslands. The project has resulted in the creation of Raflesia, a solar reflective house ⬇️ #SustainableBuildings

Cool materials have high reflectivity and high emissivity can effectively reflect a fraction of the solar radiation back to the atmosphere while emitting absorbed heat through their radiative cooling ability.
