Repealing smokefree laws will mean thousands of deaths and billions of health costs. Shane Reti said he supported 2/3 smokefree reforms but now he is scraping the lot. Way to start being health minister - by caving into the tobacco industry.

1News Better to give them all names that are much clearer, like NZTA, DHB, NZIST, MBIE, HNZ, MSD. Very good and clear for the people incapable of learning new things.

It’s clear, this govt see’s tax cuts for the wealthy a priority over protecting the lives of our most vulnerable - whilst jeopardising our health professionals. It’s become an international embarrassment.

The govt has published just one delegation to an associate minister before parliament’s first question time and its…tobacco control. I’m pretty sure they’re usually published on block. Looks like Dr Reti is on the run. dpmc.govt.nz/our-business-u…

Thank you Damien O'Connor for articulating what all New Zealanders are thinking. There will be no peace without an immediate and permanent ceasefire 🇵🇸

After months and months of gaslighting NZ’s debt level, the Minister of Finance has finally confirmed they will be borrowing more. They wouldn’t need to borrow more if they hadn’t promised tax cuts.

Rather than criticising university students, just accept that nuanced and robust debate isn’t actively nor safely encouraged in Aotearoa. These kinds of tweets continue to discourage that.

I voted for one (water meters) and not the other but either way the proposed plan is a result of decisions made by elected members. It’s now with you so please have your say and help us make final decisions 3/3 letstalk.wellington.govt.nz/hub-page/long-…

1News doing live crosses from transport hubs around the country about the increases to child & under 25 fares with vox pops of disappointed commuters. 😬 Such a bizarre decision to increase the cost of living to tens of thousands of families in Auckland and across the country.

Great to have the opportunity to kōrero about the WCC Long-Term Plan proposals! Always proud to rep the Social Change Collective. Thanks Rebecca Matthews for chairing and Teri O'Neill for the snap; big decisions to be made, but we have some future-focussed councillors! 🌏

Really disappointing to see the Associate Minister lift Immigration NZ’s ban on Candace Owens. This sets a dangerous precedent and a troubling message to our communities, particularly those who are most vulnerable to the hateful rhetoric Candace Owens represents.

Submitting on the Regulatory Standards Bill had to be one of the most complex processes ever. That’s coming from someone that is fairly clued up on the system. For a Ministry that was set up with the sole task to “reduce red-tape” this is pretty paru 👎🏼but what else do we expect?
