We’re suing the Canadian government to stop illegal arms exports to Israel. Looking forward to bringing some accountability for the rules of international human rights law that this government has so blatantly ignored.

About 50 yards from the UofT Occupy for Palestine encampment stands a plaque honouring a trailblazing student movement, controversial in its time. It boasts how it “attracted supporters far beyond the University of Toronto community,” and fought “discriminatory practices and beliefs of the state and society.”

Well said. As a legal educator, I think it’s imperative to call out craven attempts by senior members of the profession to bully students for their views. I applaud Justice MacDonald for doing just that in his report.

It’s been quite a trip to Geneva! Very happy that the UN #CEDAW Cttee is considering our report on Canadian complicity in violations of women’s rights in Gaza. Extra proud of our student Aysha Khan giving her first presentation at the UN! Thx 2 our partners at UChicago Law School GHRC.

The same goes for any racialized or indigenous lawyer who’s ever had the nerve to ask questions, or try to step outside of expected roles in any way. Full solidarity with Sara Ghebremusse and others at Allard School of Law.

Anyone who’s worked with Amnesty International knows they’re extremely cautious about using the word genocide. Many criticize them for it, but it greatly magnifies the significance of statements like this.
