There are a lot of details (& students) to keep track of on this trip, so I suppose that’s why I forgot that we did, in fact, take a group photo yesterday while we climbed the tower of the Old Cathedral in Salamanca!

After their grammar & conversation classes today, students took a dance class 🕺 and learned basic salsa & bachata moves. Of course, we had to stop for ice cream on the way home! 🍦

We went to a sports complex in Villamayor today & there was something for everyone: Zumba, soccer, basketball… ⚽️🏀 Always fun to watch kids just be kids! At night we dressed up & went out for tapas. 🥘

We’ve been enjoying Spanish food all week, but today we got to make some! Students went to a cooking class and learned how to make croquetas & non-alcoholic sangria. We had a nice feast to wrap up our trip! 🧑‍🍳

All students & chaperones are home safely from Spain! We had an incredible time. My deepest gratitude to my fellow chaperones & to everyone at Colegio Delibes. ¡Hasta la próxima! 🇪🇸❤️💛

Do cell phones belong in schools? 📱 This essay is an excellent resource for class discussion/debate AND a great example of a 5 paragraph, AP-style essay format. Using this today with my students!

This could be an interesting writing prompt for students to reflect on what it's like to be a teen. 5 sentences starting with "Soy joven y..." & then a conclusion: "Me encanta ser joven, pero..." Maybe an intro activity next year? 💡
