The 1991 Cyber City Oedo 808: Kemono no Zokusei is a vintage Japan-only cyberpunk game for the PC Engine CD. Play as convicts hunting hackers in a wired Tokyo, each mission a race against the explosive collars around their necks. It's dark, gritty, and ahead of its time.

Not my favorite in the series, but it's special to me. I remember playing some of it in the mid 90s renting it from Blockbuster because buying it was too expensive. Then finally in '98 or '99, my mother got it for like $30. Loved the more open-world aspect of it.

Shining the Holy Ark is one of the coolest dungeon crawler ever made. It was made for the Saturn by Camelot Software and uses 3D sprites for monster models, giving it one of the most memorable look of its era. You can feel the lineage into Golden Sun too!
