Really like how proactive this department is in supporting staff wellbeing and safety and prompting them to get a taxi home if they're not safe to drive

I mean, is it useful to flag a patient chart with AT RISK OF DAMA in health systems where cultural un-safety, long wait times, and retraumatisation persist? Is there a risk that AI perpetuates bias because staff give less care to pts if AI says their DAMA risk approaches 100%?

It's ok. Even the Spectators own journalists are aware its a rag and support FPR. Nice to have confirmation that my choice not to engage with the Spectator during last strikes was the right one

They've seen mental health care pushed to breaking point, and are sounding the alarm - ABC News We all see this all the time. This story is about mental health, but it could just as easily be obstetrics or surgery or cardiology. abc.net.au/news/2025-06-0…

10 years ago I met my first Aussie while learning to BASE jump. He was an amazing guy. Two days ago it caught up with him and he died from his injuries. He could have survived if he had been somewhere with well developed PHEM teams. Never take that service for granted.

MedTwitter is full of UK doctors talking about the benefits of moving to Australia but i'd like to contribute a reason to stay in the UK. Housing. Insulation. This is wonderful!

"I'm sorry. Im a Psychiatrist, not a doctor" is an interesting thing to hear from one of the consultants involved in father in laws care. Adding Psychiatrists to Anaesthetists in the grouping of 'doctors who apparently arent really doctors' 😜

Not really seeing the problem here. If its an unusable LMA and someone wants to give it a crack i'm not going to call for their head.

Family explaining the entirety of my job to nieces and nephews : "Yeah their job is to tell patients which part of the hospital they're being admitted to"

Government approach colleges and tell them "PAs are coming regardless of what you think" Colleges develop working groups with a view that "its happening regardless of what we think so we better stay on their good side and hope to maintain some influence" The cycle continues

Other benefits : 1. The thrill of passing a car with a closing speed of 140mph on a barely wide enough country road 2. Nuclear red coloured chinese food that bears no resemblance to actual Chinese food
