Honored to be filling in for Ryan Smith as the Springfield Thunderbirds host Bridgeport Islanders at 7:05 on NewsRadio 560/98.9 FM WHYN. First AHL call since my time ended in Bingo in 2017. Spent many nights in this great rink as a broadcaster, but as a fan, saw the Calder Cup hoisted here back in 1991.

Though my last season in the AHL was his first, Alan Fuehring impressed me back then. Great to see him tonight a few years later, each of us with a few NHL games under our belts...I've seen better days, but the best is still to come for this young man. Fulltime NHL voice soon!

Well, last Friday it was AHL fill-in duty for me in a 7-6 OT affair. Tonight, I'm back home at my usual gig and this happened. Cornell Women's Ice Hockey prevails in a crazy one over St. Lawrence Women's Hockey...in regulation. 😎

Back to my usual hockey haunt tonight as the ECAC playoffs start for Cornell Men’s Ice Hockey as they host Clarkson Men’s Hockey in the opener of a best-of-3 for the right to move on to Lake Placid next weekend in pursuit of an ECAC Hockey championship.

Lake Placid: Take 2...hopefully our weekend together is longer than the five hours last spring...🤣🤣🤣

Admittedly don't watch much RS hockey on ESPN, but my hand is forced in the playoffs. That said, I love Emily Kaplan in working in a tight window with bench interviews. Short to-the-point inquiries give the coaches a chance to expound and affords her a second question. 👏👏👏

Loved @johnforslund on the national radio call as the team that unceremoniously ridded itself of him and the legendary Chuck Kaiton a few years ago was swept out of the playoffs last night. Met both in the infancy of my radio career and they couldn't have been nicer to this PIA.
