This new Harbour Quays bus route is big. Speeding up bus trips through the city makes daily life better for people, gets more bus frequency for the same cost and services more destinations. I hope the government will reconsider its decision not to help fund this infrastructure.

The thing is that Wellington does have an opportunity to make a serious dent in cost of living and liveability But it comes from a serious commitment to long-term growth, not from “cutting waste”, of which there is actually not much These clowns have no plan for growth!

It mightn't fit the "roads, rubbish & rates" criteria, but places like VBC are core community infrastructure, IMO. Big ups to all the volunteers, businesses, and WCC for keeping this place going and growing for 10 years

If the Levin bypass - a 4 lane highway through flat farmland - increased by a billion, I hate to think how much a 2nd Mt Vic Tunnel is gonna cost (2022 est. was $2.2b) Maybe we could just build citywide bus lanes for 1/10th of the price? nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/fr…

Disappointing to see NZ politicians rushing to characterise a gesture of support for Palestinians as antisemitic. It's a cynical tactic that has been grossly weaponised overseas. Glad to see it called out and an apology in this instance. stuff.co.nz/nz-news/360784…

Also how is 2 billion dollars unaccetable for infrastructure to connect the north and south islands but fine for infrastructure to connect one side of levin with the other

Govt don’t have to produce balanced budgets or have asset management plans. Councils do. Yet they’re telling us to address our spending when they’re spending almost a billion dollars on no boats.

Out at the Johnsonville Community Association Meet the Candidates for GWRC - Wellington Ward tonight. 9/11 candidates here (Mark/Alice unable to attend). Might as well live tweet it.

If you’re worried about Little being wishy washy then you should vote 1 for your local Green candidates. That will deliver a team that will push for the climate action, transport and housing we need

It's not a coincidence that our bus patronage numbers are hitting all time highs. This term we've delivered more bus lanes than the seven previous councils combined

Am I missing something or does this plan give the South Wairarapa Mayor (pop. 12,000) the same votes around the table on the future amalganation of the Wellington region as the Wellington Mayor (pop. 200,000)? rnz.co.nz/news/political…
