our audacious Q2 goal for x402 weekly transactions was 2,500, a 1,000% increase we've hit that for the past five weeks and doubled our goal this week 🥳

I really do wonder if chains should have more usecase specific optimizations at both the consensus and execution layer. Implementing fastpay for simple usdc transfers as part of Base probably gets you 80% the value prop of tempo. Some complexity but seems doable.

A sagacious philosophy of engineering that comes through in Matt's post is: Choose your dependencies extremely carefully. In large companies/mature ecosystems, it's tempting to use what everyone else uses. But this can be a recipe for disaster. Your use case may differ from

Onchain builders need a great dev platform. They also need funding and amplification One of the best parts of our job at Coinbase Developer Platform🛡️ is recognizing builders and helping them go viral Excited to announce our summer grant recipients - total of $30k across 12 projects 👇

We have a ton of incredible announcements over the next month for x402, starting with the x402 Bazaar. It’s a chaotic marketplace that I believe will become a core component of the agentic economy Live today, learn more below

There’s going to be an entire technological wave that’s just rebuilding the internet to be discoverable (and payable) by AI agents working on behalf of human users. Biggest restack since mobile.

x402 bazaar allows agents to dynamically find and pay for tools and data to better solve problems. The first time you see it work is magic. More to come.

Introducing 𝚡𝟺𝟶𝟸-𝚖𝚌𝚙. Bring x402 payments into Agents & MCP servers with the AI SDK. • Open protocol based on HTTP 402: Payment Required • <$0.01 fees, sub-$0.001 minimums • Account-less + anonymous • 3 LOC to implement vercel.com/blog/introduci…

What first attracted me to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies was that the Internet lacked a digital money protocol. HTTP is the universal information protocol. When HTTP/1.1 was introduced in 1999, 𝟰𝟬𝟮 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 was specified as a standard response. Ahead of

If you think stablecoins are just for people, you’ve missed the plot. Crypto wallets and stablecoins are the optimal technology for agent to agent commerce and will unlock trillions in new value for consumers and merchants alike. Excited to partner with Coinbase 🛡️ Ethereum Foundation

x402 + Google just unlocked a new level for AI agents. Agents can actually pay each other now, with x402 powering the stablecoin rail inside Google’s new Agentic Payments Protocol (AP2). Really cool.

AI agents need money they can hold, reason about, and move programmatically. That is stablecoins. Google’s AP2 gives agents a standard to prove intent and execute payments, and x402 plugs crypto into it. AI picks, stablecoins pay - with audit trails, rules, and 24/7 settlement.

Great to see this Brian! The best way to build the agent ecosystem is open and together. Congrats to Coinbase 🛡️ for extending its x402 protocol to AP2.

10 years from now open standards like x402, A2A, AP2, and MCP will be viewed similarly to HTML, CSS, and HTTP are today. The majority of people never think about them, but they fundamentally shape their lives.

Excited to join the OIF as a contributor. The Coinbase Payment Protocol is an open, permissionless standard for onchain commerce, enabling stablecoin payments for partners like Shopify. Unlocking interoperability and cross-chain payments is key, users shouldn’t need to worry
