Things you miss about UKS2 teaching Multiplying fractions by integers can be a tricky concept to understand but this really helped children understand the structure to these types of questions. I am firm believer that resources are for all children 🧮

This week, P2345 joined Borders Book Festival stream, with Emily Dodd. They have also been learning how to peer assess each other's work, using 2 stars and a wish. P567 played the Sneaky pass game. P1/2 focused on creating fairground attractions from their book Bear in a Boat.

Primary 567 visited the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and learned how laws are made and how to become and MSP. Three MSPs answered our prepared questions. We went for a short walk in Queen's park before returning to school

Pumpkin carving in preparation for Halloween. We have been developing our iPad skills by learning to edit a photograph. We took photos and designed a Halloween outfit. In writing, we have been learning about note taking. We researched types of trees and identified key words.

To celebrate St Andrew's Day, P 1/2/3/4/5 took part in the KILTS Reading Record! There aim was to celebrate children's literature by writers based in Scotland and read stories that are set in Scotland.

This week boxes have been arriving which show an understanding of a habitat of the child's choice. P 1/2 have also been using Showbie for all areas of the curriculum. They have also enjoyed Numeracy and Phonic activities and playing together.

P2/3/4/5 had a visit from Rory's mum. She shared great ideas about reusing and recycling different fabrics and spoke about the dangers of microplastics in the oceans. She read a story called 'Duffy's Lucky Escape,' that explores how harmful plastic in the ocean can be for animals

In P1/2 we made reindeer dust with Mrs Cameron and Ms Brunton. Using the resource that RHET kindly provided for the class. We were following instructions carefully and took the reindeer dust home.
