This week, P2345 joined Borders Book Festival stream, with Emily Dodd. They have also been learning how to peer assess each other's work, using 2 stars and a wish. P567 played the Sneaky pass game. P1/2 focused on creating fairground attractions from their book Bear in a Boat.

Primary 567 visited the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and learned how laws are made and how to become and MSP. Three MSPs answered our prepared questions. We went for a short walk in Queen's park before returning to school

P2/3/4/5 have used autumn leaves to create a collage. Thank you very much for all the support towards the Shoebox Appeal. We managed to make  25 shoeboxes ☺️ Amazing work everyone!

We have started our new topic about The Natural WORLD SO WE COLLECT RESOURCES FROM AROUND THE SCHOOL TO DO STICK WEAVING/ HEDGEHOG LEAF PCTURES AND PAPER COLLAGE.

We used 'Ghost Words' to practice our spelling words. Loose Parts Play was based on partner work and role play. P2/3/4/5 have been using playdough to learn about Fractions.

his week we have started our new topic The Natural Word., We  have set up our shop selling natural things which come from our landscape stick weaving and apples. We have shared the book Pumpkin Soup which is about the importance of working together. In Art we did colour mixing

Pumpkin carving in preparation for Halloween. We have been developing our iPad skills by learning to edit a photograph. We took photos and designed a Halloween outfit. In writing, we have been learning about note taking. We researched types of trees and identified key words.

In P567 we are using loose parts play to extend our STEM vocabulary. The class is using information books to find key information and create questions.

This is P1/2/ they are colouring and made a habitat box.

P5/6/7 are learning to make notes when listening to Newsround and sharing their notes afterwards.

To celebrate St Andrew's Day, P 1/2/3/4/5 took part in the KILTS Reading Record! There aim was to celebrate children's literature by writers based in Scotland and read stories that are set in Scotland.

This week boxes have been arriving which show an understanding of a habitat of the child's choice. P 1/2 have also been using Showbie for all areas of the curriculum. They have also enjoyed Numeracy and Phonic activities and playing together.

P2/3/4/5 had a visit from Rory's mum. She shared great ideas about reusing and recycling different fabrics and spoke about the dangers of microplastics in the oceans. She read a story called 'Duffy's Lucky Escape,' that explores how harmful plastic in the ocean can be for animals

In P1/2 we made reindeer dust with Mrs Cameron and Ms Brunton. Using the resource that RHET kindly provided for the class. We were following instructions carefully and took the reindeer dust home.
