14/20 TX Bluebonnet Award was The Cursed Moon by Angela Cervantes has bigger crowds.! Readers who love scary stories will devour this one as they follow Rafa along his journey of friendship and family as he saves those he loves from evil. “You hold the pen to your own story” 👻🐆🚲🫣
15/20 TX Bluebonnet Award: Daybreak on Raven Island by Fleur Bradley! I loved this spooky mystery that draws the reader in immediately with the most intriguing setting: a haunted prison island! The best part of this book? The discussions that will follow after the story is over 🐦⬛🏝️
16/20 TX Bluebonnet Award: Stars of the Night by Caren Stelson is a stunning picture book that tells the courageous story of Nicholas Wilton, a man who helped rescue over 600 Jewish children out of Prague right before World War II began. “Remember the stars and the sun” 💫☀️
17/20 TX Bluebonnet Award was Legends of Lotus Island: The Guardian Test by Christina Soontornvat - Updates only! This was a great start of a new middle grade fantasy series for kiddos who love magic, animals, and friendship! Excited to follow Plum along as she learns more about her powers and being a guardian ✨

At Navarro Elementary meet the teacher night, we had a contest in the library to guess how many book worms were in the jar.. I was so excited to deliver the prize to the winner today! There were 91 in the jar and he guessed 87! 📚🐛#navproud #expeditionexceLLence
Every moment is a learning opportunity in Michelle Lockhart and MeghanBailey class! Warmed my librarian heart to see students reading as they waited for the restroom ❤️📚
✨SAVE THE DATE✨ The Navarro Elementary Book Fair is coming September 9-13! 🥳#navproud #ExpeditionExceLLence
Why sit and go through library orientation slides when you can show off what you know through a digital scavenger hunt? It was great to watch our students work in teams today to showcase Navarro Elementary library expectations and procedures 🤩 #navproud #ExpeditionExceLLence
The universal sign that 5th grade classes have been to visit the library. All of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are almost gone (We started Monday with over 60 copies) 😅 Jeff Kinney #librarylife
Super excited to kick off a new FIRST LEGO League season! Next step: team auditions.. Can’t wait to see the journey unfold for our kiddos! 🤩
First practice for Navarro Elementary’s FIRST LEGO League team, Kermit’s Krew! So excited to coach these kiddos, along with Ms. Shoults, to help them learn more about ocean exploration, robotics, coding, and most importantly how to be good teammates! #ExpeditionExceLLence #navproud
One of my favorite lessons of the year.. genre book tasting! 📚 Love to see our Navarro Elementary students learn more about themselves as readers and explore different literary genres. My favorite quote so far “I never knew I liked sci-fi books! 🤯” #ExpeditionExceLLence #navproud
