With huge thanks to various North Tyneside Council staff at all levels, we are now able to take our #kidicalmass ride along our fabulous seafront, using a combination of the brand new cycleway and safe on-road sections.

Next weekend (16th/17th), walk, cycle or scoot along the coast from Tynemouth to St Mary’s to see a pop-up trail of scale models of all the planets of the solar system 🪐🚲🪐🛴🪐🚶‍♀️🪐🧑‍🦽

This is both a very exciting inquiry and an extraordinary resource of 102 expert submissions, signalling the scale and strength of advocacy for space for children and young people to move, play and hang out in their neighbourhoods and communities.

Lots of great stuff here, including some positive responses from North Tyneside and Newcastle residents - hopefully 2024 will be a good year for #playstreets on Tyneside with the hope of more work to enable more #playingout across the region.

Bit of a cold and soggy one for what would have been our eighth anniversary #playstreet , but heartened that my over-the-road neighbour with two small children is determined to see it continue into 2024…

Lovely to see one of Newcastle’s rare #playstreets celebrating the many joys of #playingout here - hope that many more will be benefitting soon.
