Lately, I have been brushing up on my jewelry design skills, and wanted to dive into the legends of the industry, and share it with you in what I'm calling Jewelry Sunday School - don't worry, I will make sense with my first industry legend.

Ambaji Venateshwara #Shinde - iconic jewelry designer to Maharajas and Royalty the world over, designing for celebrities and the social elites, the famed head designer for Harry Winston for 4 decades. #jewelrysundayschool

Shinde was wildly prolific in his designs, saying that he would see jewelry in everything, marrying the traditions of Indian jewelry and modern inspirations for his renderings. #JewelySundaySchool

His discipline and reverence for his craft was evident in his designs, while keeping an ascetical, spiritual dimension to his practice. I appreciate his contemplative approach to jewelry design, drawing on the everyday and rendering in a meditative fashion to a divine creation.

Shinde is a without a doubt remarkable designer, one who I hope to emulate in my own design practice. #jewelrysundayschool
