Peace Corps Volunteer Dane and his counterpart, Mr. Phoeun, have been working on a water filtration system project to provide clean drinking water for the students in their Kampong Chhnaing school. Upon completion this project will have long-term positive impact for the students.

Apart from teaching English, Peace Corps Volunteer Joleen and her counterpart, Mr. Pha Rith, are working on a greenhouse project at their school. “This will not only beautify our campus but benefit our teachers and students directly and to the community through them.” PCV Joleen.

Peace Corps Cambodia conducted a Host Family Orientation workshop for the families who are hosting the incoming Peace Corps Trainees during the Pre-Service Training.

This week, Peace Corps/Cambodia is hosting a regional training for the new PC inventory system, Maximo. The training participants are colleagues from headquarters, Kyrgyz Republic, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

These are some of the activities the Peace Corps K16 cohort experienced during their orientation week before moving to their host families’ homes. All of these activities will help them to smoothly adapt into Cambodian culture.

📚✨ Exciting news from the heart of Cambodia! Thanks to the incredible collaboration between Peace Corps Volunteer Nahiara, Mr. Mengly, and the generous support from the community, the community library has undergone a stunning transformation! 🎉

PCV Caleb and his Counterpart has completed the library renovation prjoject in Prey Veng . New bookshelves and tables were built, while seventy-five reading chairs, new windows, and wall-mounted fans were purchased and installed. The library space was cleaned and repainted.

Cambodia is currently observing Pchum Ben. Last year, PCV Ethan joined his host families and communities by bringing food and other offerings to pagodas while they learned about this very important event.

This weekend PCV James participated in Pchum Ben, a Cambodian cultural event, with his community by helping the members of his school community with making food for the monks/ students who attended. It was a great way to get involved and share with his counterparts.
