Today, I honor my father, Charles W. Conn. He urged me to tune out the noise and focus on Jesus. He showed me how to sail against the wind. He taught me that God brings our families into our lives for us to love them. I miss you, Dad.

Guess where I saw this sign last month? Outside a building at Harvard! Not saying the Ivy League is overrated, necessarily, but. . . well. . . I guess we all have our quality control problems?

Not to mention no calories, caffeine, alcohol, or sodium! We have found the perfect beverage. And we serve it free of charge to all students at Lee University!

Here’s the Gateway group which Stephanie Taylor and I are leading. 18 of them, already learning a lot and having fun. People are saying they might be the best Gateway group this year! I dunno. . . Just repeating what I heard! #leeuniversity Randy Sheeks

My old friend Cliff Schimmels and I searched for years for the best hamburger within 50 miles of Cleveland. Don’t know if you read Twitter in heaven, Cliff, but if so, I finally found it — in this humble place on Hwy 411 in Chatsworth, Ga. Wish you were here!

Big news from Lee University: our Board of Directors elected new officers today. Chairman Wade Lombard (on the right), from Austin, Texas; and Vice Chair Clayton Watson, from Orlando.

It was “White Out Night” at Lee volleyball game tonight. I told my Gateway class if they showed up, I would join them in the face paint. They did, so I did. A first for me, for sure. Okay, I look goofy, but hey, anything for my bunch of freshmen!

Our Gateway class enjoyed a visit today from Lee’s most legendary soccer player, Ricardo Pierre-Louis, and his wife Nika. A great Q-& A session with two impressive alums from the Class of 2007!

Happy 77th birthday today to Darlia! “Mother” to her three children, “Oma” to her ten grandchildren, “friend” to many, but still the “Sweetheart of Alpha Gamma Chi” to me.

Today I turn 77 years old. I kinda enjoy this aging thing! Got my AARP card; got my Social Security; got my adult grandchildren; got my prune juice at bedtime. Got my wrinkles, a little gray hair, and arthritic joints. God willing, I’m ready for lots more!

Nothing is more inspiring than to see Lee students earnestly seek the Lord! I’m so grateful for what’s happening at Lee. That’s why we built this chapel - in fact, why we build the entire university: to provide a place where students can experience and pursue the things of God!

I’m proud to be the son of Charles W. Conn, the father of Charles Brian, and the grandfather of Charles Oliver. “Father Charlie Conn had many kids, and many kids had Father Charlie Conn. I am one of them. . . “ All his children honor him today.

It’s my birthday today. How does it feel to be 78? Honestly, I feel the same as I did at 68, 58, or 48! Maybe I fret over fewer things, and I appreciate my friends more. The things I love matter to me more now than ever: Darlia and my family; my faith; and Lee University.

This is a sad day in the Conn family, as we have suffered the loss of my brother, Stephen, who died this afternoon of complications from Alzheimer's. He was 79, a lifelong minister, and leaves behind his wife Karen, sons Greg, Chris, Jeremy, and a very large family who love him.
