‘Wicker Man’ (from ‘Turtle Soup’) by The Mock Turtles sounding fantastic on BBC 6Music this morning. Purchased after a tip-off by David Nash in 1990. If ever an album has aged like a fine wine, probably because it sounded so far out of time on release.
Thank you Simon Parker for this wonderful book. What a ride. I felt the frustration of every puncture and the pain of every 20% gradient. Your support of #oufc gives you extra kudos. And thank you 💙 ☆ Rachel ☆ for a fantastic birthday present. You know me too well.
Impulse purchase from Blue Bear Bookshop in Farnham as I didn't want to walk out empty handed. Thank you David Hepworth for a fascinating, informative and immensely enjoyable read.
Hey The Staves. Do you have a stage time for your show at MASH Cambridge tonight?
Hey Simeon Hammond Dallas. Loved your set in Oxford last night, and your CD is on heavy rotation today. Those songs work just as well live and acoustic as they do on record. Hope you made the last train home. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Chapeau to ITV Cycling for the excellent coverage of the women's Lloyds Tour of Britain. A great advert for British cycling and the women's pro peloton. Kudos to Rebecca Charlton, Hannah Walker and Joanna Rowsell MBE OLY for their commentary and insights. And some lovely dogs at the roadside.
Better late than never, and I'd almost given up hope of finding a #rsd2025 copy of 'Live at Union Chapel' by Katherine Priddy. Thanks to thesecond45 record store in Llanelli for making my day. One of many highlights during a beautiful South Wales mini-break.
Relaxing, sunny afternoon for Milo watching Winchester City v Frome Town FC in the FA Trophy. His first nonleaguedogs outing and long overdue.
