Every day that Boris Johnson remains tarnishes his party and the office of the Prime-Minister. Removing him is not only the ethical thing for Conservative MPs to do. It is also profoundly in their long-term interest.

There is no real sign that the government understands the moral purpose of asylum or is taking its responsibilities to refugees seriously . The UK is already - in population terms - far far behind Canada, Sweden, and the US in the number of refugees it accepts.

On the 8th December last year, the PM denied that any parties happened in 10 Downing Street. The very same parties that he has now been fined for attending. The most damning indictment is that no one is surprised that Boris Johnson has lied throughout. The public can't trust him.

All previous British Prime-Ministers in Boris Johnson’s position would have resigned. He must resign. Our constitution requires it.

You apologise if you spill ice-cream. If you mislead parliament you resign.
