He looked down at the bear and smiled small. “Do you like him? I saw him at the store and thought hey, Billy might like this. I can take it back if you don’t like it…” he said and shook his head. “Friends give one another gifts, right?”

He blinked. “I’m always skittish, I speak to the dead usually. Not someone whose actually breathing and other people can see me speaking to.” He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. “Are we friends?”

“I mean… you’re breathing, you’re speaking to me. So yes, I trust you.” He said and smiled small. “And we are both survivors.. I don’t mind spending time with you.”

“I never dated either, we can both learn things.” He said with a nod of his head. “The bear is a token of my gratitude for putting up with me.” He said with a soft smile.
