State Police would like to remind all drivers to be alert and watch out for children as they make their way to and from school. Drivers can do their part by obeying the posted speed limits in school zones and stopping when they see the flashing red lights of a school bus.

While a few showers are possible tomorrow morning as a warm front moves through the region, it is not until the afternoon and evening hours that the greatest coverage of showers and storms are expected. Locally heavy rainfall and isolated gusty winds cannot be ruled out.

Strong to Severe Thunderstorms with heavy downpours will be possible on Saturday. The greatest chance for storms will be east of the Genesee Valley from the late morning through the early evening. Strong to damaging winds is the primary threat with any thunderstorms that develop.

Seasonably warm & humid today with showers & scattered T-storms developing especially late this afternoon into this evening ahead of a cold front. There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) a few storms may produce damaging wind gusts in eastern NY along with locally heavy rainfall.

Severe thunderstorm threat begins this PM, with some strong to severe storms possible, especially west of I-81. The main threats will be strong winds, small hail and heavy rain causing localized flash flooding. Temperatures today will be in the mid to upper 70s. #NYWX #PAWX

A cold front is moving across NY today. Showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, mainly for areas west of I-87. Local storms could lead to ponding water in urban/poor-drainage areas and isolated flash flooding. Be weather aware and monitor your forecast.

High pressure will gradually weaken over the area today as a frontal system approaches from the west. The daylight hours will likely be dry, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Showers and thunderstorms move through the area from west to east this evening and overnight.

Today will be warm with highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s. Scattered showers & isolated T-storms are expected south/east of Albany later this A.M. into early P.M. & north/west of Albany later this P.M. into early evening. A few stronger storms may occur near the I-84 corridor.

After a dry start this morning, a cold front will move through the region today, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms, mainly to northern areas. Today looks like the warmest day for a little while, then a much cooler and drier air mass follows the front. #NYwx #VTwx

Happy First Day of Meteorological Fall!!!! It won't feel very fall like with temps in the upper 70s to mid 80s today. A cold front moving in mid-PM will produce scattered showers and storms, some of which could have gusty winds, especially along the Thruway corridor. #NYWX #PAWX

Expect mainly sunny skies through midday. A strong cold front will then plow across the region this afternoon bringing a brief period of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms. An isolated stronger storm or two may produce some gusty winds. Highs will be mid 70s to low 80s.

[Radar loop 8:34am to 9:11am] Light showers can be seen moving through the area currently. Expect scattered shower activity through much of the day, with a chance of thunderstorms. The area dries out from west to east late this afternoon, with clearing skies.

A line of showers & gusty thunderstorms may accompany a strong cold front late afternoon-early eve, esp north-central NY. A cluster of heavier showers earlier in Poconos/Pike Co #pawx to Sullivan Co #nywx, has already headed east. MUCH cooler Labor Day.

The forecast remains on track for a line of showers to move through the North Country and Vermont this afternoon and evening. Gusty winds up to 40 mph, brief heavy rain, and maybe a rumble of thunder can be expected within any of these showers.

[2:40PM Radar] A cold front with a broken line of showers and thunderstorms is beginning to move through the forecast area this afternoon. Isolated damaging wind gusts will be a possibility in any stronger storms that form, mainly east of the Genesee Valley to the North Country.
