This picture gives me mixed emotions. I drive my son to school in the morning. I park on a nearby street so we can have a little walk together. Great moment every morning. Until recently, I’d walk him to the gate. This week he asked me “Daddy, I wanna walk by myself

Yesterday's webinar about achieving greater efficiency with true serverless solutions went really well. I especially enjoyed Ryan and Eric's perspectives on serverless using real-world examples and experience. The replay is definitely worth your time to watch!

SpaceX just completed its 17th launch in 31 days. Could NASA, even in its heyday, have gotten to this frequency of launches? I seriously doubt it. As much as I loved watching launches of the space shuttle as a kid, watching the launch and landing of SpaceX rockets is amazing and

At this point, there needs to be a law that if a company doing business in the USA has an annual subscription fee, there shall be a series of emails before the re-update reminding you. If after 2-3 emails in the weeks before re-up you haven't unsubed, so be it. But at least give

We are now a week away from #UnsubFriday. That day when you get so many emails from companies you may not have heard from in a while, but they want you to buy more stuff. Instead, use the email list as a chance to unsubscribe from so many of these. This is the day you don't

If you ever want to hear how one should start a Rock and Roll album, go listen to track #1 of 1990's "Shake Your Money Maker" album by The Black Crowes. That track teases you and then slaps you with a wall of sound in the first 30 seconds.

The more time goes on, the more I think the USA needs to treat junk "food" like tobacco was treated. Require labeling on all junk food to say something like, "This product is known to contribute to obesity and shorten your life if consumed regularly." First, we need official

Hey New World: Aeternum are region transfers no longer a thing? I am moving across the USA in a few months and am hoping to move my character, but only see intra-region moves possible.

Yay for serverless event feeds from your Fauna database going GA! Snapshot Export to Amazon S3 is really what I had my eye on though. With data in S3, I can do deep analytics, AI/ML, etc. on the same data I already have in Fauna. I really want to play with this more.

Software-career thought leaders will warn you against taking an “off-ramp” from engineering. What they don't tell you is that eventually, the off-ramp comes for all of us. Take the off-ramp before it takes you. A letter to my stupid 22-year-old self: newsletter.goodtechthings.com/p/you-get-10-y…

Love it when services give the CLI some love. In this case, it works much nicer, especially for managing schema and schema enforcement in Fauna. I highly recommend upgrading to this release!

If AI-powered agents will create applications in the future, what makes a good experience for the agent that makes it want to use your service? We have heard about developer experience and advocacy in the past many years and even now, but if some people are foreshadowing a

Hey Hertz, why can I not book a car for my wife to drive like I can book a plane ticket for her to fly without me? If she will be the "primary driver," even though I will be there to drive it too, 2 days later, and the car has to be booked under her name, what's the point in

blackbox ai vs YouTube ?? why do you need to watch YouTube tutorial anymore ??? YouTube is still the GOAT! but for how to tutorials, you now have a dedicated agent ready to help for every task ... how to set up MongoDB with blackbox ai!

At what point will data centers and AI be deemed "critical infrastructure" like a dam, power plant, power lines, water treatment plants, etc., and the US government step in? Will the US military step in to help plan security for and possibly secure these facilities and companies?
