Excellent piece by Karen Chhour. "We’ve heard over the last week that the pressures on “women of colour” in Parliament are an explanation for allegedly breaking the law. How offensive." thepress.co.nz/nz-news/350155…

Folks have gone so far left that centrism looks far right to them. Most of us exist in the middle of the bell curve & agree with policies from both sides of the aisle. Ask yourself, who are the real extremists?

Maori is really an ethnic group not a race separate from Pacific Islanders. When discussing Te Tiriti it is a common failure to differentiate and understand that the terms are not interchangeable.

Very bad decisions by a grandiose Council mean that it is going down the drain. Town hall and library are more costly than demolition and new build. And we get by fine without both.

What would Golriz say to anyone who did what she has done? "How embarrassing." No empathy would be offered. But a joke and laugh at your expense would be likely.

The New Zealand Government’s Chief Scientific Advisor is so ignorant of science that she thinks sex isn’t binary. She may be right about “gender” (whatever that might be) but sex is binary, defined by gamete size. A government’s Chief Scientific Advisor should advise on science,

The way the non-binary faithful obsess about intersexes, and about individuals who can’t produce gametes, amounts to a pathetic clutching at straws while they drown in postmodern effluent. Yes, some fish change from sperm-producing male to egg-producing female (or vice versa).

Peeni Henare was not directly involved in the awarding of government contracts to Tātou but he did appear in promotional material produced by Tātou which also featured his partner.

The fact that essentially no-one was thinking about the potential conflicts of interest in a minister's partner contracting to his ministry shows how incredibly lax the govt, and NZ, has or had become on this issue. rnz.co.nz/news/national/…

On 29 November 2023, Costello as the Minister of Customs, took a paper to Cabinet which supported the increase of excise tax on tabacco products in line with CPI. The increase took effect from 1 January. RNZ omits that material fact from their coverage of Costello.

NZ has one public servant for every 83 people. Who are they and what do they do all day? Why did the last Govt hire so many? I’m back in Stuff today with a deep dive trying to answer those questions: stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350164…

The Treaty is our past, present and future. It has shaped the country we have become, and the obligations it imposes on both sides will always be with us. However, we must aspire to go forward not as two sides, but together as New Zealanders because there is more that unites us

A senior MP had to go to mediation at the Human Rights Commission with members of a minority community because her behaviour distressed the community so much. I'm sure that this will be widely reported....oh just ZB?

This tweet really triggered some blokes in my mentions. Guys, this is a statistical fact. It doesn't mean that women never harm men - I never said that. Facts don't care about your feelings, remember?
