So chuffed I passed my law and meds management exam.....three units passed... Two to go in the shape of assignments and I'm there!! 🤗

Does anyone else get put on a night shift the night before a requested day off? I'm just wondering how working the first 8 hrs of your 'day off' is having the day off? That's most peoples entire days work!

The patient I am looking after started getting emotional saying about how I look after everybody like they are my mum.... Might have had to walk out of the bay at that point as it set me off. No better job than nursing 🥰

If I EVER feel like studying again I'm first going to research "the declining mental health of students" and remind myself not to do it!!! Teary anxiety attack day hasn't helped my wordcount at all. 😩 I want to quit.

Insomnia has been helpful tonight! My parents were meant to be renewing their vows today. Vicar got covid so cancelled ceremony yesterday! However I've just adapted the ceremony words 😏 so I can surprise them at the function and they can still renew their vows... Unofficially!

Passed my recap document 😀 two more weeks of placement and an essay result to come back. The closer it gets the more and more I feel like I'm playing what's the time Mr Wolf with my career by the day and it could shout dinner time anytime soon 😬

I'll just leave this here incase anyone senior needs to see this! Us juniors might moan to you about new policies, staffing etc ... But we appreciate you really and know your job is really tough... So take care of yourselves 🤗

We had a lovely get together today to celebrate the almost there (2 weeks till last essay results) end of the course for us all 😍 made friends for life through this journey. Thank you UoB School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Edu. & Bedford Hospital (Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS FT) for this amazing opportunity to progress.

How much you can change. I never even spoke out loud in class for the entire two years of my foundation degree. Fast forward: Today attending resuscitation training I actually volunteered to go up & help resus Stanley when no one else would. I even sat him up alive at the end 😏

18 months of great learning opportunities, support, happiness & triumphs balanced with some stress and heartache is over (till I get my Pin).... Placement hours completed! Nicky the student has left the building.

My experience as a student nurse has definitely inspired me to support and welcome any students I come across in my career... and never dismiss or delay writing in their documentation... That stress is real!!

Whilst I am strongly believe results do not define you... They have put a huge smile on my sons face today as he can stay on at school to do his A levels 😍 so I am a fan of them today. Always proud of him anyway as he's the kindest, funniest soul ❤️

Headteacher from school: "Nicola when God gave out brains he missed you out, but gave you freckles to make up for it" Today that same Nicola still has many freckles but found out she got a First for her degree!

Staff Nurse Nicola reported for duty this morning... Its taken 22 years, many laughs, words of encouragement, wonderful patients and a few tears along the way and as no one's pinched me yet... I'm beginning to think it's real!!
