Strange timing, in an election year, when you've already had to defend your existing £4,000 per month law firm policy job in the local paper. legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/fo…

Sponsorship and having a job at the end of the course are absolutely crucial (as I remember). Doing the course without them is something completely different. At last we're talking about the right things. legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/wh…

Feels like 1997 all over again, with The Sun rallying round. The only question is the size of the triumph. Will Starmer be a better PM than Blair? Hopefully he will.

Before today, I would never have believed that the constituency I come from, Esher and Walton, could be anything other than Tory. It used to be one of the safest Conservative seats in the country. People joked about it. It now has a Liberal majority of 12,000. Amazing.

legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/hi… Seems logical to me. Star lawyers make a good department even better and a bad one even worse.

I'm glad the conclave has been postponed to May 7. Having missed the film, it means my conclave DVD might actually get here before the real one is over. There's been a run on conclave DVDs - not surprising really.

Congratulations to Lewisham Council for inviting London Square to propose an even bigger and uglier tower for the Leegate centre. Given that you knew how everyone felt, this was really special.

There are a lot of questions in this discussion paper with no answers, which can be a bit frustrating, but at least they've raised the issue of giving legal personality to AI systems, which is something we'll have to deal with. legalfutures.co.uk/latest-news/la…

My wife headed off this morning to do jury service, yet again. I have never been called. That is so unfair. Can anyone think of one good reason why a judge would not want a legal journalist on their jury?

Time is running out to complain about the hideous and totally oversized tower being planned for the Leegate site here in SE12. After 13 years of public consultations, Lewisham Council seems to have done a last-minute deal for the worst development so far.
