The Red Ensign has been flying over the cathedral today for Merchant Seafarers, for those who died transporting essential supplies during wartime.

The rainbow flag is flying from the Cathedral tower today for Newport Pride - #PrideinthePort. There is a Cathedral stand at the Corn Exchange in the city centre. Please call by and say hello.

We were delighted to admit Tom Coxhead as our new Director of Music this morning. We welcome Tom and look forward to everything he will bring as he develops the music in the Cathedral and choir.

One of our Peace Candles, given to Ruth Jones MP at the recent peace vigil in the Cathedral, has been placed in the chapel in the House of Commons. May it inspire all who see it to work for #peace in the world.

One of the joys of being a dean is to climb up the scaffolding and see the building close up, and see what you normally don't notice, as well as the view across the city to the Prince of Wales Bridge, the Transporter Bridge, the Bristol Channel and Flat Holm Island.
