Our first award is Teacher of the Year, which is awarded to Cherryl Stafford 🙌 Cherryl is the driving force for developing netball at New College Doncaster. Delivering netball to girls within her college who would otherwise have little opportunity to play netball post 16.

The Unsung Hero of the Year award goes to Sue Mackrill. Sue is an active and valued member of the West Yorkshire Junior Netball League committee. Involved in organising umpires for the whole of the junior league across multiple venues ensuring matches go ahead as planned.

The next award is Young Volunteer of the Year which is given to Emily Garner. Emily gives up her weeknights to be an assistant coach to the junior teams at Wakefield Phoenix netball club. On a weekend you will find her managing a team or officiating for the junior leagues.

The award for Coach of the year is   Fayme Travis The girls at Otley Netball Club have respect for her as a coach. Going above and beyond in supporting the players love of netball she brought them together and has organised trips to see Leeds Rhinos play and a residential trip.

The Coach of the year (adults) is awarded to Helen Steele Helen has recently stepped up and taken on the challenging role of Head Coach at Sherburn Netball Club, successfully implementing new ideas and ways of doing things resulting in wider participation. 👏

The Community Official of the Year, in honour of Sheelagh Redpath, goes to Jackie Cork. Jackie has had a huge impact on the Huddersfield and West Yorkshire netball community. She gives many hours of her time each week mentoring umpires of all standards.

The Inclusion award goes to Net4All who began with an understanding of limited county sport offer for SEND females. A netball taster day held with girls from local schools enabled participants to attend with familiar people in order to gain trust in the Net4All coaches. 🙌

Making moves 🆙 🚀 The Vitality Roses have overtaken New Zealand to move up to second in the World Netball World Rankings! Since the introduction of the system in 2008, it's only the third time that England have been ranked second 👏
