Recently, initial-tour judge advocates enjoyed a tour of USS Wasp (LHD-1), where they met honorary Navy Lt. Cmdr. Ike, a three-year-old therapy dog. Ike is assigned to the Wasp as part of an experiment to boost the well-being of Navy crews while deployed.

The U.S. European Command participated in Austere Challenge 2024, a multinational exercise to prepare ready forces and integrate with the NATO alliance. Five Navy judge advocates worked on a joint legal team, advising on a wide range of operational and international law issues.

Last month, students and members of the career services team from Chapman University Law School visited Naval Base San Diego. They met with members of Region Legal Service Office Southwest & Defense Service Office Southwest, and received a tour of the USS Pearl Harbor.

Members of Defense Service Office West (DSO West)Detachment Bremerton, attended a Knowledge Exchange with Defense Attorneys from the Army, Air Force/Space Force, and the Marine Corps. The team led a training on Pre-Trial Investigation & Administrative Separation Board Defense.

Region Legal Service Office Southeast personnel received training from the Military Working Dogs at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Lt. Kate Ricart, Lt. Sarah Younes, & Lt.j.g. Caroline Skaff traded turns in the bite suit & learned the true meaning of taking a bite out of crime.
