This was not what I was going for while working on a data art collection. But I saved the code in my pen plotting folder instead to try it out in the future! 😆 #genart

Excited to announce that I've been able to reduce the prices for all prints in my online store by at least 10%, most even by 30% 🙌 shop.visualcinnamon.com/collections/gi… (due to the opening of a US branch of my printer, they were able to slash costs, which I've applied to my prints ^_^)

New Work! A #dataviz about the (academic) startups in Amsterdam over the past decade+ Revealing their founding year, what tech they're in, no. of employees, amount of funding & if they're still active right now Created for the soft-launch event of Caempus, a startup incubator

The start of a new week. Onwards to get some dedicated time in to write my "being more creative in" #dataviz book as I had fallen behind during the previous months 😅 Continuing on with Lesson 9 today. Wish me luck that I'll have a productive week of writing ahead 💪

Trying to learn #Blender through the Python API and Geometry Nodes to create a #dataviz. Baby steps 😅 took me 2 days to learn how to read in a CSV file and use GN to display the datapoints as spheres of different sizes. Wish me luck as I continue ;)

Update 2 of my #Blender #dataviz: Applied a material per sphere based on a variable (1 material per unique value) + get labels next to them! I did have to ditch GN and do it all with the Python API 😅 I sadly can't seem to get rid of the spikes popping up from several letters 😖

End-of-day update on learning to make a #dataviz in #b3d: Applied materials based on data and added + extruded labels 🙌 (through the Python API now) Much to learn about materials & lighting 😬 Any resources on a color gradient shadow are very welcome: dribbble.com/shots/3248599-…

Starting a new book this morning! All Over the Map by Betsy Mason & Greg Miller. Published by National Geographic, so lots of cartographic inspiration! And this gorgeous map of Mount Everest with hand-drawn relief from 1988 that accompanies the introduction does not disappoint ✨

A big congrats to Anne-Marie Dufour & Elijah Meeks for the release of the 3rd edition of "D3.js in Action" 🎉 My gosh, I had no idea it was that thorough with over 600 pages! Honored that one of my projects has been included 🙏 Me & Skittles are looking forward to going through it ^^
